Macallan 55 Year Old Lalique / マッカラン 55年 ラリック . The Macallan distillery was founded by Alexander Reid, a barley farmer and teacher. The original name of the area was 'Maghellan', which came from the Gallic word 'magh', which means fertile soil, and 'Ellan', from the monk St Fillan, which was closely related to the church that stood in the grounds of The Macallan Estate until 1400. Farmers had already been making whisky on their Speyside farms for several centuries. Released in 2007, this is the second decanter in a highly limited, exclusive Macallan collaboration with crystal makers, Lalique.
